- Disney Skyliner Hop: How to Spend a Full Day Resort Crawling in the Sky
Hey bestie! Ready for a magical adventure above Walt Disney World? Let’s talk about the Disney Skyliner Resort Crawl—the ultimate way for Disney adults, resort hoppers, and foodies to experience the best of Disney resorts without even needing a park ticket. Whether you’re looking for a unique way to explore, sample delicious eats, or enjoy a Skyliner bar crawl with friends, this is the perfect day out.
The Disney Skyliner is a state-of-the-art gondola system that connects multiple Disney resorts with EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, making park-hopping and resort-hopping easier than ever. The best part? No theme park ticket is required to ride the Skyliner or visit the connected resorts—just hop on and start your adventure! Guests can enjoy a bar crawl experience using the Disney Skyliner by stopping at various locations for drinks, making it a fun and social way to explore Disney property.
We’re starting our journey at Hollywood Studios and taking “the most magical flight on earth” all the way to Epcot, hitting every resort stop in between. Grab your Mickey ears (or your Tinkerbell sweatshirt!) and let’s fly.
Stop 1: Pop Century Resort – Breakfast with a Side of Nostalgia
After a quick flight from Hollywood Studios and a transfer at Caribbean Beach, our first real destination is Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
Dining
What I Ate: The Avocado Breakfast Bowl ($10.99). It’s a massive portion of potato barrels, scrambled eggs, cheddar, Southwest-style beans, avocado, and salsa fresca. It’s hearty enough to power you through a full park day!
Merchandise
The Merch: Keep an eye out for the resort-specific mugs ($27.99) featuring the iconic Pop Century logo and Mickey.
Activities
The Vibe: As soon as you walk into Classic Hall, you’re hit with pops of color and nostalgia.
Next, take a short walk across the Generation Gap Bridge to your next stop: Art of Animation Resort!
Stop 2: Art of Animation – Finding Ariel and Concept Art
You don’t even need a gondola for this one—just a quick walk across the Generation Gap Bridge! Art of Animation is a masterpiece of Disney storytelling.
Activities
Take a stroll through the Little Mermaid section (seeing Ursula and King Triton is a must!).
Visit Animation Hall to see the original concept art.
Merchandise
Merch Highlight: The Ink & Paint Shop has a paintbrush-handle mug ($24.99) that features Ariel, Nemo, Simba, and Lightning McQueen. It’s easily one of the most creative souvenirs on property.
Once you’ve soaked in the animation magic, hop back on the Skyliner and glide over to Caribbean Beach Resort for some island vibes.
Stop 3: Caribbean Beach Resort – Island Vibes & Hammock Time
Back on the Skyliner to the main hub: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. This place feels like a total tropical escape.
Activities
The Vibe: Find a hammock on the beach and relax with the stunning view of the lake.
Dining & Drinks
The Drink: Stop at Banana Cabana for a Piña Colada on the Rocks ($18.50). Made with SelvaRey Coconut Rum and pineapple agave, it’s refreshing without the “brain freeze” of a frozen drink. Cheers!
Merchandise
Skyliner Merch: The Calypso Trading Post is the place to be for Skyliner-themed ears ($39.99) that actually have moving gondolas inside the ears!
Ready for a touch of European elegance? Board the Skyliner and head to Riviera Resort next!
Stop 4: Disney’s Riviera Resort – A Touch of European Elegance
Just a short “flight” away is the Riviera Resort. This stop is all about sophistication, stunning mosaics (the Tangled and Peter Pan murals are breathtaking!), and great caffeine.
Dining & Drinks
The Treat: Head to Le Petit Café for the Cinnamon Cold Brew ($6.29). It features house-made honey almond whipped cream. It’s light, not too syrupy, and provides that perfect afternoon pick-me-up.
Merchandise
The Merch: La Boutique carries high-end souvenirs, including a gorgeous white and blue quilted Loungefly ($90).
Activities
Admire the beautiful mosaic murals and soak in the European-inspired atmosphere.
Now, it’s time for the grand finale—take the Skyliner to Epcot’s International Gateway!
Stop 5: Epcot – International Gateway & Remy’s Adventure
We finished our hop at the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. Since we were already in the “back” of the park, I went straight to the France pavilion for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
Activities
2D vs. 3D Update: Disney recently updated the ride to be 2D instead of 3D (no more glasses!).
My Experience: Interestingly, I felt the motion more in 2D than I did with the glasses! If you’re prone to motion sickness, definitely use the Single Rider line to save time, but keep an eye on how your stomach feels.

Refurbishments and Closures: What to Know Before You Go
Before you set off on your Disney Skyliner adventure, here’s a little pixie-dusted planning tip: always check for refurbishments and closures! Walt Disney World Resort is famous for keeping everything in tip-top shape, which sometimes means the Disney Skyliner takes a short break for maintenance.
Routine Maintenance
Pro-Tip for 2026: If you’re planning a trip early this year, take note! The Disney Skyliner will be down for routine maintenance from January 25th to January 31st, 2026. Disney will provide bus service, but you won’t be able to do this specific “hop” during those dates!
Alternative Transportation
If you’re staying at a Skyliner resort—like the colorful Caribbean Beach Resort or the elegant Riviera Resort—rest assured you’ll still have easy access to the theme parks and other resorts, even during Skyliner closures.
Disney provides complimentary bus transportation connecting all the key spots during Skyliner downtime.
Just keep in mind that bus transportation might take a little longer than soaring through the sky, so plan accordingly if you have early theme park entry or dining reservations.
Skyliner Operating Hours
Skyliner hours usually run from 7:00 am to 10:30 pm, but they can shift with park hours, special events, or even weather.
For the latest updates, check the official Walt Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app before you head out.
If the Skyliner is a must-have for your magical vacation, double-check those dates—sometimes a quick peek at the calendar can save you a lot of trouble!
Quick Reference Table
| Tip | Details |
|---|---|
| Routine Maintenances | Jan 25–31, 2026 (Skyliner closed; bus service available) |
| Alternative Transportation | Complimentary Disney buses connect all Skyliner resorts and parks |
| Skyliner Operating Hours | Typically 7:00 am–10:30 pm (subject to change; check official sources) |
And if you find yourself visiting during a scheduled closure, don’t worry—Disney’s bus transportation will keep you connected to all the fun at Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and beyond. With a little planning and flexibility, you’ll still have access to all the magic, whether you’re relaxing at Caribbean Beach, sipping coffee at Riviera, or hopping between theme parks.
So, keep an eye on those Skyliner schedules, stay flexible, and you’ll be ready for a smooth, wonder-filled Disney World adventure—no matter what!
