Walt Disney World is the world’s #1 honeymoon destination, making it the ultimate place for romance and unforgettable memories. Today, Paul completely swept me off my feet with a day full of surprises, and I am so excited to take you behind the scenes of our intentional, romantic, and very pink Disney date.

Planning dining reservations in advance is essential for popular spots like Cake Bake Shop and the dessert party, as these experiences are in high demand and can fill up quickly.
A Floral Morning Surprise
The day started in the sweetest way possible. I woke up to a beautiful bouquet, a festive balloon, and the cutest little stuffed bear. But the real gift was the plan Paul had tucked away in his sleeve: a full day of “intentional time” together at Disney’s Boardwalk and Magic Kingdom.
Disney’s BoardWalk is a vibrant entertainment and dining district at Walt Disney World, known for its lively atmosphere, variety of casual dining options, nightlife, and entertainment activities that do not require a park ticket. The area comes alive especially in the evenings, making it a favorite for couples and families alike.
As your Disney Bestie, I’m all about making your next Disney day a little lighter and a brighter. Today, we decided to put the phones down (mostly!) to really soak in the magic, but I’ve gathered the best clips and tips to help you recreate this romantic vibe.
Lunch at The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers
Our first stop was a reservation I had been dreaming about: The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk.
The Atmosphere
The moment you step inside, you are transported. It is elegant, sparkling, and honestly, it just screams Valentine’s Day. With white wood, glittering chandeliers, and a French-inspired aesthetic, it’s the most beautiful spot for a midday date. Guests are welcomed into a vibrant space at Disney’s Boardwalk, making it a good spot for both couples and families. The venue is family-friendly and offers options for kids, making it a great choice for all ages.
The Menu Highlights
While the cakes are legendary, their savory lunch menu is equally impressive. Here is what we enjoyed:
Sips: I started with a glass of Bubbly Rosé (perfect for the occasion), while Paul had a crisp, sparkling Lemonade.
The Croque Monsieur: I opted for this classic French ham and cheese sandwich. It was topped with a decadent layer of melted cheese and served with a fresh arugula salad. It was much heartier and more delicious than I even expected!
The 12-Layer Club: Paul went for the towering Club Sandwich. It’s massive! Since he’s not a huge fan of avocado or tomato, he passed those over to me, turning it into a “10-layer club” for him and a side salad for me.
The Fries: We split a side of their signature fries, which are a must-order.
There is a wide variety of drinks available, including specialty cocktails and non-alcoholic options, so everyone can find something to enjoy.
After lunch, don’t miss exploring other popular dining options at Disney’s BoardWalk. Flying Fish is a favorite for its modern seafood menu, perfect for a romantic dinner. For dessert, Ample Hills Creamery is nearby and famous for its homemade ice cream—definitely worth a stop!
The “Must-Try” Latte
Even though we skipped the actual cake (saving room for later!), I couldn’t leave without trying the Raspberry Rose Latte.
Price Point: $14 The Verdict: It’s incredibly unique. You get the sweetness of the raspberry followed by the delicate, floral notes of the rose. It’s refreshing, especially on a sunny Florida afternoon, and is available both hot and iced.
Afternoon Magic at the Boardwalk
After lunch, we took some time to be “intentional.” We strolled along the Boardwalk, watching the Friendship Boats pass by and enjoying the sun. Disney’s BoardWalk is a lively entertainment and dining area, easily accessible from nearby hotels and the International Gateway, making it convenient for guests staying at Epcot-area resorts, especially those at the Yacht Club Resort hotel.
Guests at Disney’s BoardWalk can enjoy a variety of dining experiences without needing a park ticket, and allergy-friendly meals are available—just ask a cast member for assistance.
Pro-Tip: If you see the “Character Car” parked outside the resorts, keep your eyes peeled! It usually means a surprise character greeting is about to happen nearby.
We even joked about renting one of those Surrey Bikes. Paul suggested we hire people to do the pedaling while we sit in the front and enjoy the view. A girl can dream, right?
Disney’s BoardWalk features live entertainment, carnival-style games, and themed bars and lounges like Abracadabar, all accessible without a park ticket. The BoardWalk offers a large area for guests to explore together, making it a great spot for couples and families. The atmosphere becomes especially vibrant in the evenings, with music, lights, and entertainment bringing the whole area to life.
Magic Kingdom After Dark
As evening fell, we headed over to Magic Kingdom. There is something about the park at night—the lights, the music, the energy—that feels like pure fairy tale magic.
The People Mover Hack
We headed straight for Tomorrowland to ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover. It is my absolute favorite way to see the park lights.
Did you know? On the People Mover, if you give the Cast Member a little signal (like a circular motion) as you approach the loading platform at the end, and there isn’t a long line, they might let you stay on for a second loop! We did exactly that and got to enjoy the “Highway in the Sky” twice in a row.
A Quick Bite
Before our big event, we grabbed a classic Disney snack: Hand-dipped Corn Dogs from Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square. They come with a side of house-made chips and are the perfect savory fuel before a sugar-filled night.

The Grand Finale: Fireworks Dessert Party
The highlight of the night was Paul’s second big surprise: the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party.
How it Works
We chose the Post-Party option. Here’s why it’s great:
The Viewing: You get access to a private, reserved standing area in the Plaza Garden. No fighting for a spot on Main Street! You have a perfectly centered view of the castle and the “Happily Ever After” projections. The viewing area offers a good view of the castle and fireworks, making it a good spot for photos and memories.
The Parade: Because we arrived early to our viewing area, we actually caught the tail end of the parade passing by. It was like a two-for-one deal!
The Treats: After the fireworks end and the crowds are rushing to the park exit, you head over to Tomorrowland Terrace for a private party.
The Cost & Value
Price: $99 per person (in addition to your park ticket).
What’s Included: A buffet of desserts, cheeses, fruits, and unlimited beverages (including beer, wine, and champagne).

The desserts were almost too cute to eat! We had:
Tiana-themed treats
Mickey Custards

Artisanal Cheeses and Fruits
Free-flowing Brut Champagne (The perfect way to toast to a great Valentine’s Day).
A delicious selection of chocolate treats, including chocolate-covered strawberries and miniature chocolate desserts, added a luxurious touch to the buffet.

Walking back to the car, I felt so full of gratitude. Spending Valentine’s Day in the Disney bubble isn’t just about the food or the fireworks—it’s about the memories made in a place where everything feels possible.
